Multifaceted Technical Specialist

Job Summary:

This role reports to the Engineering Team Leader and is part of a 24/5 shift-based operation, requiring a 12-hour shift schedule with a mix of day and night shifts. The salary for this position is £47,265, inclusive of a shift allowance, and includes a company pension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Support:
    • Ensure effective cross-shift communication to promptly resolve reactive issues.
    • Perform hands-on fault finding and rectification when necessary.
    • Act as a liaison between Operations and Engineering teams.
    • Collaborate with Maintenance Planners and Asset Care Teams for planned maintenance.
    • Support contractor activities and maintenance tasks on shift.
  • Engineering Excellence:
    • Lead and support improvements through Continuous Improvement initiatives and preventative actions.
    • Support planned and predictive maintenance requirements.
    • Drive the completion of root cause analysis.
    • Advocate for engineering standards and best practices.
    • Document maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
    • Contribute to site maintenance audits and improvement plans.

Qualifications:

Technical Requirements:

  • Hold a time-served electrical engineering qualification, preferably with an ONC/HNC.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with relevant CMMS systems.

Personal Qualities:

  • Influencing, presentation, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • A motivated self-starter with prioritization and planning skills.
  • Effective team member.
  • Coaching and mentoring skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • 18th Edition qualification.
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems.
  • Experience with SAP EAM.
