Job Title: Lead Software Engineer

As a Lead Software Engineer at Roke, you will play a critical role in the development of new software features for a critical National Security product and continued updates to operating systems and third-party packages. You will work closely with the services team to address problems and interact with the customers' technical teams to understand new requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of new software features and updates to operating systems and third-party packages.
  • Work closely with the services team to address problems and interact with the customers' technical teams to understand new requirements.
  • Provide technical training internally and technical consultancy to customers.
  • Port products to new hardware platforms when required.
Requirements:
  • Linux (ideally Red Hat, Centos or Rocky)
  • Software development including languages such as C++, Python or Javascript
  • Network protocols
  • Socket programming
  • Web based technologies such as React and Django
  • SQL databases, ideally PostgreSQL
  • Testing and diagnostics using a range of tools such as Robot Framework, Jenkins or Gitlab
