Position Overview

Northampton General Hospital is seeking a dedicated Band 5 Cardiac Clinical Specialist to enhance our growing Cardiac Physiology department.

We are in search of a BSc qualified (or equivalent) professional who will collaborate with the Cardiology team to uphold our exceptional standards of patient care.

Our team is dynamic and inter-professional, providing a comprehensive array of services to the local community. We are committed to delivering outstanding patient-centered care in accordance with NICE guidelines, National Service Frameworks, and evidence-based practices.

Our department conducts a variety of cardiac interventions, including permanent pacemaker insertions, implantable cardioverter defibrillator placements (both transvenous and subcutaneous), leadless pacemaker procedures, Physiologist-led ILR implantation services, cardiac resynchronization therapy, percutaneous coronary interventions, trans-oesophageal echocardiography, stress echocardiography, myocardial perfusion scintigraphy, and cardioversion. We also have a chronic total occlusion program and utilize advanced techniques such as IVUS, OCT, and rotablation.

This clinical role is ideal for an enthusiastic team player who can work collaboratively with existing teams to provide and coordinate expert care within Northampton General Hospital.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will operate across the Cardiac Physiology department, supporting both invasive and non-invasive services.

The role includes performing the following procedures within the non-invasive service: 12 Lead ECG, ambulatory ECG/BP analysis, exercise tolerance testing, autonomic function assessments, and tilt testing, as well as assisting in catheterization lab procedures such as angiography and PCI.
