The Economic Research Team plays a pivotal role in conducting comprehensive economic research and analysis pertinent to the bank's operations. In this capacity, you will collaborate closely with Senior Economists, providing essential support in data collection and processing, macroeconomic modeling, and statistical analysis. Your responsibilities will also include monitoring data releases, updating databases, synthesizing findings, and contributing to presentations and reports tailored to both internal and external client inquiries.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses of economies under the guidance of Senior Economists.
- Engage in economic modeling and statistical analysis, applying sound economic principles.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance country and regional databases with meticulous attention to detail.
- Contribute to written publications and presentations regarding the region.
- Monitor global data releases and market-relevant developments.
- Produce literature and report reviews.
- Assist with any internal and external data or information requests related to the covered countries.
- Post-graduate degree in economics (Master's level).
- Relevant experience in the field of economics.
- Background in development or international economics with a strong analytical/statistical focus is also acceptable.
- In-depth knowledge of economic principles and statistics/econometrics.
- Proficient in spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to analyze, synthesize, and present complex information effectively.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Capability to work independently during periods of supervisor travel.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a diverse, international team environment.
- Research experience focused on emerging market economies is highly advantageous.
- Experience within the official creditor sector or in developing country government roles is a significant plus.
