About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Automation Maintenance Technician to join our team at Royal Mail Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability and performance of automation assets through effective maintenance procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance tasks, including preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance
  • Conduct continuous improvement activities to enhance automation outputs
  • Provide effective support to the Engineering Manager, Maintenance Team Leader, and Engineering Team Coaches
  • Identify root causes of automation breakdowns and prioritize corrective actions
  • Monitor equipment performance and collaborate with operational stakeholders to improve automation outputs
  • Contribute to Continuous Improvement projects, from conception to implementation, for machinery in the Hub/Mail Centre
About You

We are looking for an experienced multi-skilled engineer with a strong background in electrical and mechanical engineering. You will have a minimum ONC Electrical Engineering/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification and experience in maintaining automation equipment, including Programme Logic Controllers (PLC). A flexible approach and the ability to communicate complex issues effectively are essential.

You will also need to have a full UK driving licence, as occasional travel to other sites may be required.
