Position Overview:

An esteemed Managed Services Provider is seeking an IT Support Technician to deliver exceptional support services.

This role involves working collaboratively within a team of skilled technicians, providing 1st and 2nd Line Desktop Support to a substantial user base, managing advanced hardware, software, and infrastructure technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
The IT Support Technician will be responsible for assisting a diverse range of onsite and remote users. You will operate from a central office, with occasional travel to various client locations. Your duties will include:

  • Responding to incidents and requests through a contemporary IT Support System, adhering to company Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Troubleshooting issues related to Desktops, Laptops, telephony, networking, and printing.
  • Investigating software-related problems and performing daily checks to confirm successful backup operations.
  • Ensuring compliance with Cyber Essentials Plus standards for the systems under your management.
  • Installing and configuring hardware, software, and mobile devices.
  • Engaging in server-related tasks and gaining exposure to infrastructure technologies.

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will be self-driven, meticulous, and organized, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients across all business levels while providing outstanding customer service. A logical approach to problem-solving and prior experience in a similar role are essential.

Essential Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a comparable role.
  • Proficiency in Windows 10, MS Server 2012/2019, and MS Office 365.
  • Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy administration.
  • Knowledge of IP networking, telephony, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Familiarity with server, network, and desktop hardware.
  • Strong customer service skills.

Desirable Skills:
Additional skills that would be advantageous include:

  • Experience with SCCM.
  • Mobile device support capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Sophos AV.
  • Knowledge of backup software and hardware, particularly Arcserve Backup Solutions.

Preferred Certifications:
Any of the following certifications would be beneficial:

  • MCSE/MCITP
  • MCP/MCTS
  • VCP
