Job Summary:

Venn Group is seeking a qualified Planning Lawyer to join a Local Authority on an interim basis. The ideal candidate will have previous Local Authority experience and a strong understanding of planning law.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice on a wide range of planning matters, including highways and Section 106 agreements.
  • Draft and negotiate sector 106 agreements to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Represent clients in negotiations and discussions with third parties in planning matters and legal practice areas relevant to the post.
  • Provide legal advice and support to client Committees and Directorates as directed.
  • Conduct research and provide advice to the Council on planning law and Local Government Law.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with previous Local Authority experience.
  • Strong understanding of planning law and relevant laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
