Responsibilities:
- Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of the building, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
- Conduct regular checks on systems, including Loler testing, to identify and address any potential issues.
- Respond promptly to fire alarm calls, boiler malfunctions, and lift issues to maintain a secure and efficient environment.
- Make effective use of resources to minimize waste and optimize maintenance and repair efforts.
- Manage the purchase and banking of small items for the home, ensuring efficient and secure transactions.
- Maintain the building, grounds, and equipment to the highest standards, including decoration, minor plumbing works, and garden maintenance.
- Foster strong relationships with colleagues and other teams to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Stay informed about the home's policies and procedures, particularly the Fire Policy, to ensure compliance and safety.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Assist in the induction of new staff by training them on building layout and fire policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection policies at all times.
- Manage stock control and ordering, ensuring accurate acceptance and checking of deliveries.
- Stay vigilant about Health and Safety requirements and report any concerns or issues promptly.
- Maintain open communication with colleagues, residents, and other teams to ensure a positive and supportive environment.
- Carry out additional duties as requested by management to support the smooth operation of the home.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Review and update the job description regularly to ensure alignment with changing needs and priorities.
Essential Skills:
- A strong background in plumbing and maintenance is essential for this role.
