Design Engineer - Mechanical CAD

Lynx represents a diverse aviation services company with operations in the UK, Jersey, Europe, and the Middle East. Their work spans various sectors, including flight operations, life-saving services, mission-critical intelligence, and advanced systems development.

Job Summary

We are seeking 5 x Mechanical Design Engineers to join our design team. The ideal candidate will have experience in Part 21J to integrate into our team producing mechanical design data for aircraft modifications and repairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create design schemes and proposals meeting customer and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare CAD models and drawings using 3D CAD software
  • Produce detailed mechanical designs
  • Liaise with production and installation departments
  • Conduct technical surveys and 3D scanning on aircraft
  • Prepare design documentation
  • Engage in continued professional development
  • Represent the Design Organisation Approval (DOA) to customers and Authorities
Requirements
  • Experience working on EASA / CAA / Part 21J Design work
  • Background in areas such as sheet metal structures, machined components, basic mechanism design, cabin interiors, cabin monuments, avionics installations, and HEMS / Air Ambulance
  • Ability to conduct technical surveys on aircraft
  • Proficiency in 3D modelling and drafting to BS 8888 and company standards
  • Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent
  • Engineering Degree or equivalent
  • Experience with 3D CAD software (specific software experience may be considered)
