Job Title: Vice President, Audit Project Leader

BNY Mellon is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President, Audit Project Leader to join our Internal Audit team. This role is located in Manchester or London, with a hybrid work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead or participate in delivering complex and challenging audits, focusing on thematic audits of UK and EU regulations to satisfy regulatory coverage for the UK legal entities.
  • Contribute to the end-to-end planning, fieldwork, and reporting of audit assignments, considering complex business processes and decisions.
  • Identify meaningful issues impacting business and operations under review, challenging management to ensure appropriate remedial action has been taken.
  • Prepare draft audit reports and follow up on audit actions, testing their implementation as necessary.
  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, acting as a subject matter expert for Internal Audit.
  • Contribute to the development of the annual audit plan and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Relevant years of experience working in financial services or banking, within Third Line Internal Audit or Second Line Risk or Compliance Monitoring.
  • Substantial operations, conduct, and governance understanding and exposure.
  • In-depth knowledge of audit methodologies and UK and EU regulation (MiFID II, EMIR, PSD, SFTR) and key areas of regulatory focus from the FCA/PRA/EBA.
  • Working knowledge of Markets (FX, Securities Finance, Fixed Income) and Collateral Management products, and applicability of regulations to those products.
  • Strong communication, influencing skills, and ability to communicate with stakeholders both internal and external, written and verbally.
  • Self-starter with a high degree of self-sufficiency, excellent planning, coordination, organization, and presentation skills.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and adaptable to change, with strong knowledge and use of Excel and other Microsoft software.
