About the Role

Five Education is seeking an experienced and compassionate individual to join our team as an Apprenticeship Partner in Inclusion and SEND. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing one-to-one support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Developing Positive Relationships: Build trusting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive environment.
  2. Behaviour Management: Manage challenging behaviour in a calm and patient manner, using positive reinforcement techniques to promote positive behaviour.
  3. Interventions and Support: Deliver planned interventions under the guidance of the class teacher, providing individualized support to students with SEND and SEMH needs.
  4. Communication and Feedback: Maintain effective communication with the class teacher and SENDCo, providing regular feedback on student progress and behaviour.
Essential Criteria
  • Calm and Patient Approach: Remain calm in challenging situations, using a patient and empathetic approach to de-escalate conflicts.
  • Building Trust: Establish trusting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Effective Communication: Develop strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Adaptability and Initiative: Demonstrate adaptability and use your own initiative to respond to changing situations and priorities.
  • Patience and Resilience: Show patience and resilience in the face of challenging behaviour, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
Desirable Criteria
  • Team Teach Qualification: Possess a Team Teach qualification or be willing to undergo training.
  • Teaching Assistant Qualification: Hold a Teaching Assistant qualification or be willing to undergo training.
  • Secondary School Experience: Have prior experience working in a secondary school setting.
