G&H is seeking a talented Hardware Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team in Ashford, Kent.

As a key member of our engineering division, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of cutting-edge imaging and sighting systems for Aerospace & Defence and Life Science applications.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of electronic solutions for a range of electro-optical products, encompassing FPGA, digital, and analogue hardware and software.
  • Provide comprehensive electronic systems engineering input throughout the product lifecycle, from concept to manufacture and test.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to execute electronic design, analysis, and testing activities.
  • Prepare high-quality presentations and reports for all project phases.
  • Support the seamless transition of designs from development to production.
  • Work closely with Business Development and Engineering teams to explore new opportunities and develop innovative solutions for customers.
  • Drive products through the entire design process, encompassing prototyping, environmental qualification, and adherence to internal or customer-driven NPI (New Product Introduction) standards.
Your Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a minimum of a 2:1 classification.
  • Proven expertise in digital and analogue signal processing.
  • Hands-on experience in analogue electronics design, schematic capture, and layout.
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation that supports the product development process, including product specifications, manuals, and end-user instructions.
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrated by the ability to create and deliver presentations to customers and partners.
  • A strong understanding of the full design lifecycle, encompassing requirements capture, sub-system design, hardware design, testing, and final integration.
  • The capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience in firmware development using languages such as C, C++, C#, or Python.
  • Knowledge of qualification standards (e.g., MIL, STANAG, ESCC/ECSS).
  • Demonstrable expertise in digital and analogue video processing.
