Cedar Care Homes Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef/Cook to join our team at Eden Mansions Nursing Home.
About the Role:
We are looking for a Chef/Cook who can prepare and deliver high-quality meals to our residents, ensuring that their dietary needs are met and exceeded. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of hygiene in the kitchen, managing a team of kitchen staff, and leading by example.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver high-quality meals to residents, ensuring that dietary needs are met and exceeded.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene in the kitchen, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Manage and train kitchen staff, leading by example and promoting a positive work environment.
- Liaise with other departments to ensure efficient and effective services.
- Monitor supplies and minimize wastage, allocating and coordinating the work of kitchen assistants.
- Prepare all meals to an excellent standard and quality, maintaining up-to-date and accurate records.
- Have an open, honest, and supportive approach, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 2 in Catering and Hospitality (desired but not essential)
- Experience of working within a care setting
- Experience of managing a kitchen
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Due to the location, a driving license and access to a car would be beneficial
