We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Regional Manager to lead our South East Construction and Major Works team. Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Team Management
- Lead, motivate, and inspire a team of technical experts to deliver safe and efficient operations
- Develop and implement plans to achieve operational and financial targets
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders, including senior management, contractors, and trade unions
- Operational Management
- Manage and coordinate resources during emergency incidents
- Forecast delivery outputs and implement remedial action as required
- Assist with the delivery strategy and preparation of contract bid packages
- Health and Safety
- Ensure safety case responsibilities and operational risks are communicated and understood
- Implement and maintain a culture of safety excellence within the region
- Performance Management
- Participate in monthly/quarterly performance reviews with contractors
- Manage and develop teams and direct reports in alignment with the SGN performance management framework
- Business Development
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation
- Design and implement plans to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with stakeholders, including customers, contractors, and trade unions
- Promote a positive and cooperative working relationship with stakeholders
- Proven track record of leading and managing a large safety-critical operation at a senior level
- Ability to manage technical experts to maximise safe and efficient operations
- Strong commercial and financial acumen and understanding of key financial and operational drivers
- Solid communication, motivational, and influencing skills with an ability to engage and influence people at all levels
- A role model for company values and behaviours
- Evidence of successful succession planning, including the development of teams and individuals
- Educated to degree level or equivalent, and holds, or working towards, gas-related professional qualifications
- IOSH Managing Safety qualification (or working towards within a 6-month timescale)
- Experience of collaborative working with a direct labour workforce in a unionised environment
- Experience in managing a contract labour workforce alongside a direct labour workforce
