Job Title: AV Field Service Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AV Field Service Engineer to join our team at SIM Switchgear. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe execution of all service-related projects, including servicing, upgrades, and life extension of switchgear and ancillary equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and advice to existing customers, generating quotations for service-related work and undertaking pre-mobilisation duties, including project-specific risk assessments and method statements.
- Safely perform all necessary service-related tasks at SIM and customer premises, including switchgear service and maintenance, switchgear upgrades and life extension projects, protection relay testing and upgrades, and switchgear breakdown investigation and repairs.
- Undertake safety, competence, and task-related training as identified by the company and participate in the out-of-hours call-out service as required.
- Represent SIM Switchgear to customers in the UK and overseas, providing outstanding customer service and working with other departments to deliver appropriate service levels.
Requirements:
- A time-served apprentice in an electrical engineering background or educated to a minimum ONC level in electrical engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience in the fundamentals of electrical switchgear, its operation, maintenance, and fault finding, as well as IT skills including familiarity with Microsoft suite programs.
- Experience of offshore/marine working and a commitment to continually improving the standard of customer care.
