Job Title: Head of Estates

As a key member of the Insight Executive Group team, we are seeking an experienced and skilled Head of Estates to join our organization. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Associate Director of Estates to ensure that our healthcare properties are safe and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead on building and engineering safety, inspection, and maintenance.
  • Operate and manage all estates activities across various disciplines, including healthcare engineering, decontamination, medical gases, ventilation, water, fire, electrical, environment, and pressure systems.
  • Ensure authorized person roles are covered, taking lead responsibility in person where necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director of Estates and senior colleagues to manage Service Level Agreements/Contracts across estates-related disciplines.
Requirements:
  • Industry qualification in engineering, technology, building, surveying, or architecture, plus an appropriate mechanical or electrical formal qualification in estates disciplines.
  • Registered Professional in a relevant FM Institution.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and training skills, with the ability to motivate and support staff.
  • Sound knowledge of environmental management, health & safety requirements/legislation, including COSHH, risk management, and Legionella.
  • Extensive experience of engineering services to buildings and building construction, with specific geographical knowledge of services and equipment throughout the properties to be maintained.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience in engineering services to buildings, building construction, and maintenance management strategies and techniques.
  • Advanced skills in using departmental computer software systems, including FMIS, Safecode, Smartstream, ELVIS, and the Microsoft Office package.
