About the Role
Transport for the North is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of large and complex projects, or programmes of work, to support the delivery of the Trans-Pennine Route Upgrade (TRU).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of large and complex projects, or programmes of work, to support the delivery of TRU, working with senior internal/external stakeholders and partners to ensure delivery against project needs and objectives.
- Lead a project team or teams and ensure all work and outputs are executed to meet requirements, taking into consideration interdependencies between your work and other programmes of work.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior internal/external stakeholders and partners, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Identify and mitigate risks, and develop and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project delivery.
- Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and addressing any issues or concerns that may impact project delivery.
Requirements
- Demonstrable post-qualification experience in successfully managing large and complex multi-stakeholder projects.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and meet operational targets.
- Knowledge of the rail industry, including timetabling and access planning.
- Drive to deliver excellent customer experience during periods of disruption.
- Education to degree level or equivalent experience, and a professional qualification in project/programme management.
