We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at LANXESS UK. As a key member of our Quality Assurance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our products meets the highest standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement quality control methods for new processes and products.
- Maintain and repair laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor and control process parameters to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Conduct analysis of effluents, borehole, and cooling tower samples to ensure environmental compliance.
- Provide technical support to the production team to troubleshoot quality-related issues.
- Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures, including reporting of accidents, near misses, and incidents.
- Conduct risk assessments and COSHH evaluations to minimize hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
- Provide raw materials analysis, assessment, and documentation to support quality control efforts.
- Document and report non-conforming product/blend failures and turnovers/extensions.
About You
We are looking for a candidate with a background in the chemical industry or related process industries, preferably with a relevant apprenticeship or degree. You should have a keen sense of smell and be confident handling chemicals and equipment.
You will have knowledge of GC, GCMS, and HPLC operation, including equipment maintenance and wet chemistry techniques. Good communication skills are essential, as you will work closely with personnel across various departments and levels of seniority.
