Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Neonatal Intensive Care Sister/Charge Nurse to join our team at the Royal London Hospital.

This role offers a great opportunity for learning, development, and career growth. As a Neonatal Intensive Care Sister/Charge Nurse, you will have the chance to develop your skills and increase your knowledge by caring for a range of sick neonates from extreme prematurity to term gestation.

Main Duties of the Job

This role will allow you to develop your portfolio, experience working within a large, friendly, and diverse team, and provide surgical and medical interventions to maintain the lives of these precious tiny patients.

You will be responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs of care, and setting standards. This will include the delivery of education and training programs that incorporate mandatory training, clinical, and enhanced skills within Neonatology.

Person Specification

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse, Children's Nurse, or Midwife
  • Mentorship and assessment in the clinical area or equivalent
  • Neonatal course (all modules)

Desirable Criteria:

  • Neonatal Life Support

Skills:

  • Good level of skill in computer usage – able to use NHS databases, input data, and retrieve information
  • Awareness of current issues and reforms in the NHS and neonatal services
  • Awareness of the Toolkit for high-quality neonatal services
  • Excellent understanding of safeguarding issues

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of good budgetary control and efficient use of resources
  • Desire for service improvement and efficiencies
