Job Overview

AtkinsRéalis Infrastructure division is seeking a Lead Building Surveyor to enhance our team; engaging in a collaborative environment to provide a comprehensive range of Building Surveying services. This role offers a diverse and stimulating workload with various esteemed public and private sector clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overseeing multiple projects across various sectors, executing and managing a variety of building surveying and project management tasks.
  • Contributing to the growth of new and repeat business across all sectors.
  • Maintaining client relationships and ensuring service delivery on a project-by-project basis.
  • Assisting senior management in the daily operations of the business, including:
    • Project management and contract administration for larger initiatives.
    • Conducting condition and measured surveys.
    • Designing and executing small to medium-sized projects.
    • Performing due diligence surveys.
  • Applying standard building contract forms, such as JCT and NEC.
  • Staying informed about industry trends and best practices.
  • Managing teams and delivering projects under framework agreements.
  • Gaining experience in sectors such as education, local authorities, healthcare, central government, and infrastructure.
  • Conducting defect analysis, performing building surveys, and preparing professional reports and specifications.
  • Understanding quality, safety, and environmental principles in project management.
  • Delivering both pre- and post-contract project management services.
Qualifications
  • BSc (Hon's) in Building Surveying or a RICS accredited degree, or equivalent qualification.
  • Full membership in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
  • Proven all-round surveying experience.
  • Experience in both pre and post-contract project management responsibilities, effectively delivering services to clients.
  • Strong teamwork abilities and effective communication skills at all levels.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Collaborating with senior colleagues to foster a profitable service and a positive, high-performing team environment.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit is advantageous.
  • Awareness of BIM systems.
  • Experience mentoring APC graduates.
  • Comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations.

Compensation and Benefits

Additional Information

This role may necessitate security clearance, and employment offers will depend on obtaining the appropriate level of clearance. If applicable, this will be discussed during the interview process. The vetting process is conducted by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK for a minimum of five years.
