Job Title: CNC/Machine Operative

Join our team at Matchtech and take on a challenging role as a CNC/Machine Operative. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating conventional and numerically controlled (CNC) equipment to produce high-quality landing gear components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate CNC machines to perform production tasks, following approved programs and quality procedures.
  • Prepare and install tools, measuring and test equipment, and automatic control stations.
  • Load computer programs and input production equipment settings to ensure correct operation.
  • Run machine programs, perform intermediate checks, and inspect finished products for quality and geometric tolerances.
  • Identify and report any defects or issues, and participate in adjustment or follow-up operations as needed.
  • Enter and save production data, and maintain workstations, tools, and work areas in good condition.
Requirements:
  • Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or NVQ level 3.
  • Understanding of pipe manufacture processes, assembly, and completion of associated production acceptance testing.
  • Knowledge of fabrication and relevant machinery, as well as quality tools such as 5S, Lean/6-Sigma.
  • Ability to follow technical drawings, specs, procedures, and test instructions, and self-inspect and complete dimensional measurements.
  • Understanding of programming of NC machines is an advantage.
