About the Role

Gemini Recruitment Services Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Public Law Paralegal to join our team. As a Public Law Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients in their Public Law matters.

Main Responsibilities
  • Report directly to the Department Director and work closely with the team to deliver high-quality results.
  • Provide professional, proactive, and client-focused support in Public Law matters, including LAA-funded and private client work.
  • Assist with casework, including dealing with a range of Public Law matters, and prepare cases for court.
  • Attend clients, take instructions, and prepare cases for court.
  • Deal with correspondence, prepare and manage funding applications to the Legal Aid Agency, and prepare draft documents.
  • Prepare applications, including drafting application forms, indexes of documents, and letters of representation.
  • Attend conferences and court, and maintain accurate time-costing procedures.
  • Implement recommendations made by your supervisor following monthly file reviews and ensure compliance with file management.
Requirements
  • Immigration Accreditation is preferred, but not essential.
  • Demonstrate passion and experience in a broad range of LAA-funded Public Law matters.
  • A strong academic background with a Law degree is required.
  • Legal experience as a Public Law Paralegal or Advisor is essential.
  • A clear understanding and application of Public Law is necessary.
  • Business acumen and the ability to market the company are required.
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with all types of people are essential.
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to use your own initiative but know when to seek guidance.
  • Excellent IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and document management skills.
