We are seeking a highly skilled Field-Based Engineer to join our team at SSE plc. As a key member of our construction team, you will play a crucial role in delivering construction requirements for our owned assets and associated infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the delivery of construction projects, ensuring safe and efficient execution of capital works construction projects, fluid-filled cable faults, asset portfolio plan, and connections.
- Provide support to Project Managers, principal designers, investment managers, commissioning engineers, and members of the works delivery team to ensure successful project delivery.
- Manage substation and cabling projects, including SAP resource and PM duties for internal delivery projects as required.
- Work with Project Managers and Design Engineers to ensure safe and efficient delivery of SSEN's capital portfolio externally and internally resourced.
- Undertake SAP duties for internal delivery projects as agreed, populate and amend white books as required, and update Maximo via MAD forms.
- Support regions in fault scenarios, including full Sanction For Test (SFT), and carry out fault investigation, locations, and repairs on EHV fluid-filled cable systems.
- Undertake project management duties for small-scale internal delivery projects as agreed.
- Proven experience in testing and witnessing commissioning of HV/EHV distribution systems.
- Ability to carry out fault investigation, locations, and repairs on EHV fluid-filled cable systems.
- Travel is required, and a current driving license is essential.
