We are collaborating with a dynamic SME property services firm that is seeking a Residential Property Solicitor to spearhead their internal Residential Division.

This position offers the flexibility of fully remote work.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor with substantial expertise in property law and a proven history in the residential sector, particularly in landlord and tenant matters.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this newly created role will be pivotal in providing comprehensive legal support for the residential division. Responsibilities will encompass managing a substantial caseload from inception to resolution and serving as the primary legal authority within the division. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Overseeing all cases within the residential division, focusing on both tenants and landlords.
  2. Handling a significant volume of cases and guiding them to completion.
  3. Providing legal advice on landlord and tenant issues.
  4. Managing Section 8 and 21 Notices, including Notices to Quit.
  5. Facilitating Debt Recovery, Statutory Demands, and Monetary claims.
  6. Demonstrating a willingness to build and lead a team.
  7. Responding to inquiries through various communication methods.
  8. Assisting in the preparation of supporting witness statements for possession applications.
  9. Conducting research and staying informed about anticipated leasehold reforms following upcoming elections.
  10. Participating in trade shows and events regularly as part of business development efforts.
  11. Collaborating closely with associations to support their members with tenant-related issues.
  12. Contributing to the expansion of legal services offered by the firm, such as boundary disputes and inheritance support.

To qualify for this role, candidates must possess a law degree (or equivalent) and be fully qualified with a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience. Experience in property law, particularly in the residential sector, is essential.
