Job Title: Team Teach Trained Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Teach Trained Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Special School and Alternative Provision in Portsmouth. The successful candidate will work with young people across year 3 to KS4 who have a range of social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) developmental needs and/or medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and activities to students with SEMH needs
  • Assist with the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students
  • Provide one-to-one support to students with SEMH needs, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to plan and deliver lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students

Requirements:

  • Team Teach Trained Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
