About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Databricks Technical Specialist to join our team at Vallum Associates. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for deploying, supporting, and administering Databricks in the Cloud.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deploy and Administer Databricks
    • Manage memory, scheduling queues, and messages
    • Monitor performance and supervise cluster health checks
    • Perform regular backups and recoveries
    • Commission and decommission nodes
    • Deploy code and analyze server logs
  • Manage Tenants and Users
    • Create workspaces, manage users, and monitor cloud resources
    • Advise on architecture and scaling for Databricks environments
    • Collect user requirements and set up data storage, notebooks, and compute
  • Technical Support and Monitoring
    • Serve as a point of contact for technical issues
    • Monitor usage and report on cost management
    • Participate in cost planning
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in data administration, including setting up and administering Databricks environments
  • Proven experience as a Databricks account owner, managing workspaces, audit logs, and high-level usage monitoring
  • Experience managing cluster and jobs configuration options
  • Experience with GCP or AWS setup of Databricks
  • Proven ability to meet established service levels, availability, performance, data privacy, and security guidelines
Preferred Skills
  • Good knowledge of GCP and Kubernetes
  • Terraform knowledge
  • Ability to install, troubleshoot, and integrate with Identity Access Management for Databricks
