Job Purpose:

    Our client is a prominent independent bakery located in Iver, Buckinghamshire, featuring a cutting-edge automated production facility.

    They specialize in producing high-quality baked goods, ranging from classic recipes to innovative specialty breads.

    Duties and Responsibilities
    Accountable for all reactive and proactive maintenance tasks, including electrical work, ensuring adherence to the highest standards throughout the facility.
  • · Complete maintenance requests from various departments promptly, following established standard operating procedures.
    · Conduct routine and preventative maintenance within the facility.
    · Respond swiftly and effectively to maintenance requests from all departments.
    · Prioritize maintenance issues, particularly addressing breakdowns of plant and machinery.
    · Test, diagnose, and perform basic repairs on diverse equipment and machinery.
    · Comprehend the electrical specifications of automated production lines, facilitating fault diagnosis and repairs.
    · Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) while maintaining a proactive approach to maintenance tasks and achieving high PPM output.
    · Implement improvement initiatives on machinery and site enhancements.
    · Ensure efficient management of engineering time to minimize downtime.
    · Monitor equipment performance and take immediate corrective actions to resolve issues, escalating when necessary. Health and Safety
    · Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition, ensuring that workshop and factory areas are safe environments at all times.

    · Work in a clean and organized manner, complying with the Company’s Hygiene Code of Practice.

    · Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety standards and that all equipment meets company and legal requirements.
    · Be aware of and adhere to relevant health and safety policies, procedures, and instructions.
    · Contribute to a safe working environment.
    · Report any health and safety hazards or incidents to the Health and Safety consultant or HR Manager.
    · Take responsibility for personal safety.
    · Conduct risk assessments regarding health and safety, implementing necessary measures based on findings.
    · Assist and cooperate during audits and follow up on remedial actions.
    · Monitor and report on health and safety practices and systems. Food Safety
    · Consistently adhere to technical procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
    · Report any potential food safety and quality concerns to the Technical team.
    · Foster a hygienic work environment in line with Company policies and procedures.
    · Provide adequate resources for the Food Safety Management system.
    · Monitor and report on food safety practices and systems. Requirements
    · Ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Requirements:
· Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience.
· Recognized Electrical Apprenticeship or relevant experience/formal engineering qualifications to NVQ Level 3 or higher in electrical or mechanical disciplines.
· Proficient electrical fault-finding skills.
· Strong problem-solving abilities.
· Excellent teamwork capabilities.
· High efficiency and organizational skills.
· Must possess the knowledge, discipline, and initiative to work independently.
· Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings/manuals.
· Demonstrate a sense of urgency and be proactive in driving continuous improvement initiatives.
· Proven experience in the food industry is essential.
· Familiarity with three-phase motor drives and other production equipment.
· Experience in PLC fault-finding.
· Experience in both reactive and proactive maintenance.
