Position Overview:

As a Mechanical Assembly Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to safely and precisely assemble and evaluate new Control products, which include various Hydraulic and Grease Control modules, pressure testing and injection units, as well as all associated accessories. You will be expected to utilize hand tools safely, including tube bending equipment. Your role will involve enhancing the assembly of NOV ISE products through specific methodologies, innovative idea generation, and effective problem-solving techniques. You will also provide support to your colleagues as needed and report any health and safety improvements or violations, halting any operations you consider unsafe and promptly informing your Cell leader or line manager. Adherence to all risk assessments and participation in safety initiatives is essential. The quality of your work must meet the highest standards, with an expectation of achieving 'right first time' on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Documentation and Assembly: Interpret and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions to accurately assemble equipment and products.
  • Hydraulic System Production: Construct hydraulic systems according to designs and procedures, ensuring cleanliness and integrity.
  • Tube Bending Operations: Perform tube bending tasks safely and accurately, using tube bending equipment while adhering to specifications.
  • Quality Control: Monitor materials, products, and equipment to identify defects or faults, ensuring compliance with high-quality standards.
  • Inspection Compliance: Strictly follow inspection and FAT criteria, policies, and procedures, providing assistance to team members as necessary.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain both the quality and quantity of production, ensuring products align with NOV standards.
  • Workspace Management: Keep an organized and visually appealing workspace, following 5S principles.
  • Continuous Improvement: Generate and implement improvement ideas, encourage team members to contribute ideas, and proactively address safety and quality concerns.
  • Safety and Compliance: Uphold safety and quality regulations, report safety hazards, and ensure adherence to health and safety policies, quality requirements, and housekeeping standards.
Qualifications:

Essential:
  • Engineering Documentation: Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings, schematics, and ETS, along with written instructions and procedures.
  • Tool Proficiency: Skilled in using basic hand and power tools, including tube bending equipment.
  • Manufacturing Experience: Previous experience in an assembly and manufacturing environment, including component preparation.
  • Tube Bending Expertise: Experience in small bore nonferrous tube bending.
  • Well Control Knowledge: Familiarity with well control and pressure testing equipment.
  • Educational Background: Completion of a time-served apprenticeship or HNC in a relevant field.
Desirable:
  • Hydraulic and Pneumatic Experience: Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic fittings, including autoclave threading and coning of high-pressure tubing (training available).
  • Equipment Operation Skills: Experience in forklift and crane operation (training available).
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
