About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Ecologist to join our team at Locri Recruitment. As a key member of our ecological consultancy, you will be responsible for managing and conducting a wide range of ecological assessments, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Protected Species Surveys, and Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments.

You will work closely with clients, providing expert advice and delivering high-quality ecological reports. The role offers a mix of office and fieldwork, with the majority of projects located in London and Essex, although some projects may take you further afield.

As a key member of our team, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to our company's strategic growth, mentoring junior staff, and playing a significant role in maintaining our reputation for technical innovation and excellence.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of four years of experience in ecological consultancy. You will need to have a strong background in:

  • Preliminary Ecological Appraisal and Protected Species Surveys
  • Biodiversity Net Gain and its application in ecological assessments
  • British flora and fauna
  • Wildlife legislation and the planning system
  • Excellent report writing skills with a strong attention to detail

You will also need to have a Bat Survey Licence (Level 2) and a full driving licence.
