About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and versatile Operative to join our team at Tarmac Crown Farm Sand & Gravel Quarry. As a key member of our operational team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality dry aggregates material for the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate aggregates on site and manage mobile plant and marine dredging plant, including loading shovels, excavators, and dumpers.
  • Perform weighbridge duties and ensure accurate measurements.
  • Conduct day-to-day maintenance of the plant, maintaining the highest levels of housekeeping.
  • Train and operate on static plant operations to drive plant optimisation.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure customers receive good quality material and on-time deliveries.
  • Maximise plant availability and assist the Supervisor in meeting daily/weekly production targets.
  • Maintain a culture of zero harm and behavioural safety, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety measures.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in a similar aggregates environment or an industrial or factory environment as an operative or labourer.
  • Experience working within a Health and Safety-based environment.
  • Good timekeeping and time management essential.
  • Experience operating mobile plant, including loading shovels, dumpers, and excavators.
  • Knowledge of Risk Assessments, ideally within the role of an operative.
  • Flexibility and ability to work as part of an effective multi-skilled operational team.
  • Self-motivation and ability to motivate colleagues within the team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of the industry, mobile plant, and quarrying preferred but not essential.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • IT literacy.
