Job Opportunity: Specialist Registrar Role in Pediatric Medicine

About the Organization

The Pediatric Division at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is responsible for the care of a large number of children and manages numerous deliveries annually. The team operates across a wide geographical area, ensuring comprehensive pediatric care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the clinical management of pediatric patients in acute care settings
  • Provide support for pediatric cases in the Emergency Department
  • Guide and mentor junior medical staff
  • Participate in out-of-hours duties for neonatal and general pediatrics
  • Conduct triage, assessment, and management of hospitalized children
  • Manage discharge processes and care planning for patients
General Duties:
  • Engage in the education of medical students and trainees
  • Participate in acute on-call responsibilities
Candidate Profile:Qualifications:
  • Registered with the General Medical Council
  • Possession of an MBBS degree or equivalent qualification
Experience & Skills:
  • Completion of ST3 training in Pediatrics
  • Prior experience as a Specialist Registrar is advantageous
Specialization:
  • Focus on Pediatrics
  • Experience in Community Pediatrics is a plus
Certifications:
  • Advanced Pediatric Life Support (APLS)
  • Neonatal Life Support (NLS)
Teaching Experience:
  • Previous involvement in teaching is preferred
Management and Quality Improvement:
  • Experience in management and audit processes is desirable
