Base Materials is seeking a skilled Production Operative to join our team in Whetstone, Leicester. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our raw materials production line, completing final finishing processes, and conducting quality inspections to meet quality assurance standards.
Key Responsibilities- Operate automated and manual plant and machinery to produce high-quality products.
- Conduct quality assurance checks and report any imperfections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Monitor and review operations and product quality to identify areas for improvement.
- Use lift trucks to move raw materials and finished goods around the facility as needed.
- Perform housekeeping and basic maintenance duties to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
- Report any incidents of non-conformance to the Line Manager.
- Use computer systems to track stock levels and product lifecycle data.
- Adhere to Production Schedules and Standard Operating Procedures to produce products on time and to quality specifications.
- Comply with Health and Safety regulations at all times, taking responsibility for the safety of self and others.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Ability to carry out quality inspections and report any imperfections.
- Valid counterbalance licence.
- Experience working in a composites materials manufacturing environment.
- Recent fork-lift truck driving experience.
- Application of 5S principles.
- Knowledge of 6-sigma and lean manufacturing principles.
- A willingness to learn and be part of a friendly, dedicated, and hardworking team.
