Job Description

Job Title: Programme Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to join our team at QinetiQ. As a Programme Manager, you will be responsible for the effective project management of multiple suppliers, ensuring that infrastructure changes are delivered within scope, time, and cost.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-value and complex projects (up to £5m) with a focus on customer satisfaction, time, cost, quality, cash, and sales.
  • Ensure project outputs meet agreed baselines, maintaining forecasts for sales and delivery, reflecting up-to-date expectations.
  • Apply governance requirements for foundation sales and delivery work, reporting progress to programme/portfolio manager or their delegate.
Day-to-Day Activities

Key Activities:

  • Lead project teams to deliver project outputs, managing multiple external suppliers and developing and maintaining forecasts for sales and delivery.
  • Ensure project members operate in line with the Operating Framework functional competency management requirements.
Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience leading business, projects, programmes, portfolios, or P3 functions.
  • Experience delivering defence, engineering, and/or IT projects, with a strong understanding of stakeholder management.
  • Ability to manage multiple external suppliers and experience in Defence, Aerospace, or other closely related sectors.
Qualifications

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in an appropriate discipline.
  • Recognised PM qualification (APM Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) or Prince2).
