The Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is seeking a highly experienced Nuclear Protective Security Inspector to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of the civil nuclear industry.
Key Responsibilities- Regulate security across the civil nuclear industry, ensuring duty holders comply with legislation and that operations are safe and secure.
- Assess security plans and visit duty holders to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Engage with senior stakeholders, duty holders, and ONR colleagues to communicate security requirements and provide guidance.
- Develop and implement effective security strategies to mitigate risks and ensure the safe operation of nuclear facilities.
- Good honours degree or accredited Level 6 qualification in a security subject relevant to the role.
- Member of a relevant professional institution (e.g. the Security Institute) or equivalent experience.
- Highly experienced protective security practitioner with good knowledge of risk management.
- Expertise in two of the following areas: personnel security, policing and guarding, or emergency preparedness and response.
We offer a competitive salary of £68,954 - £79,219 (plus £4,052 London Weighting Allowance if applicable) and a substantial Civil Service Pension scheme. You will also be eligible for generous holiday entitlement and the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
