About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced BSL Teaching Assistant to join our team at a reputable secondary school in Redbridge, East London. The successful candidate will have BSL certification and a passion for working with hearing impaired students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the learning and educational progress of pupils with hearing impairments
  • Assist teachers in the management of pupils and the classroom
  • Provide assistance to students with hearing impairments to access the curriculum and participate in learning
  • Develop independence in learning and other aspects of school life
Requirements
  • BSL certification and ideally experience working in a secondary school
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in addition to BSL
  • Ability to form and maintain appropriate professional relationships and boundaries with young people and adults
  • Commitment to personal career development and a desire to gain experience working in a school
