About the Role

This fixed-term position will cover a maternity leave and is an excellent chance to gain experience in a dynamic and supportive environment. As a Children & Young People Officer, you will be responsible for promoting participation and engagement among children and young people, ensuring their voices are heard and valued.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver participation groups, feedback activities, and schemes of direct work to maximize engagement and participation.
  • Work collaboratively with children, young people, parents, and families to involve and include them in service design and delivery.
  • Support the Council's Corporate Parenting and SEND Strategy by delivering a high-quality offer to promote and enable children and young people's engagement and participation.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records and reports to ensure effective service delivery.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Able to produce and maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Ability to engage positively with children, young people, and their parents.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of organisations and individuals.
  • Understanding of the needs of local young people, including complex issues faced by vulnerable young people.
