Job Title – Building Surveyor (MRICS Qualified)

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Cardiff

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Property team as a Building Surveyor, handling general material damage losses and assisting with complex building-related issues. Claims can range from £20,000 to over £1 million in value, with an average claim of £250,000.

You will work alongside one of our experienced adjusters, where the claim is typically adjuster-led and requires further surveying expertise to progress and settle the insurance claims efficiently. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out initial visits and assessing damage to a high professional standard
  • Establishing and agreeing defect diagnoses
  • Progressing ensuing Planning, Building Regulations, Party Wall, and CDM issues
  • Arranging testing and report preparation
  • Complying with performance and process requirements
  • Producing appraisal reports with budget costings and recommendations

We are looking for an experienced Surveyor with Chartered MRICS qualification, who enjoys the technical side of surveying. Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Customer and quality-focused
  • Team-focused, working with colleagues throughout the business
  • Reactive and proactive, responding to daily workloads and meeting KPIs and SLAs
  • Ability to produce high-quality reports and presentations
  • Demonstrate technical competence and knowledge of up-to-date Health & Safety legislation
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a speedy and responsive manner
  • Holds a full UK driving licence and has a willingness to travel when necessary
