JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Underwrite applications for portfolio landlords, SPV, HMO, Expat, Holiday let, and standard Buy to Let mortgage requests, demonstrating a solid understanding of mortgage loan processing.
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with proficient data analysis capabilities.
  • Support the Chief Credit Officer in all operational aspects of the Retail Credit Department.
  • Oversee the assessment and processing of Buy to Let cases, presenting proposals to Risk Committees.
  • Conduct reviews, assessments, and investigations to minimize credit risks associated with loan applications, adhering to the Bank's operational policies and procedures.
  • Provide clear justifications for approving or rejecting applications before submission to the Chief Credit Officer/Credit Committee.
  • Ensure credit decisions comply with regulatory standards, credit policies, and adhere to Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles.
  • Engage with valuation firms, legal entities, and external vendors to facilitate the successful completion of loan applications.
  • Prepare and submit Management Information System (MIS) reports as required.
  • Adhere to various bank policies, including credit policy and AML/KYC risk matrices.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with the UK regulatory framework, principles, and rules.
  • Understanding of the UK lending landscape.
  • Relevant experience in underwriting or assessing credit proposals in the Buy to Let sector.
