Position Overview

At Prospero Teaching, we are seeking experienced tutors who have a background in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a one-on-one environment. We aim to find a dedicated and motivating tutor who can assist those whose educational requirements may differ from conventional schooling.


The ideal candidate will possess qualities such as patience and empathy, along with the ability to develop and implement tailored learning plans for individual students. A supportive and therapeutic approach may be necessary to effectively assist those with SEN. Our goal is to provide structure in the students' daily routines while fostering their educational growth in various forms.


This tutoring role serves as an alternative to traditional schooling for these young individuals and typically involves part-time hours during standard school times, five days a week. Prospero Teaching will collaborate closely with you to track each student's progress, requiring weekly reports to be submitted.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Location: Within the designated areas
  • Position: SEN Tutor
  • Compensation: GBP25 - GBP30 per hour based on experience and qualifications
  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate both your needs and those of the student


Qualifications:

  • Possession of QTS or an equivalent qualification
  • Demonstrated classroom teaching experience in the UK
  • Creativity, patience, and the ability to think innovatively
  • Experience working with students with SEND or those who are disengaged


Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • An enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to apply for a new one
  • References covering the last two years of employment
