Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and compassionate Registered Dental Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our specialists to deliver outstanding treatment and care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Practice within the scope of a General Dental Council (GDC) registered dental nurse and maintain compliance with the GDC professional standards.
  • Provide exceptional dental nursing care to patients with special needs, vulnerable children and adults, the elderly, mentally and physically disabled patients, patients suffering from terminal illness, infectious risk, medically compromised, anxious/phobic patients, and people with challenging behavior.
  • Deliver high-quality chairside assistance across a wide range of dental specialties, supporting all grades of clinicians.
  • Maintain high standards of infection control throughout the department.
  • Ensure all specialist equipment is properly maintained and used in an appropriate manner.
  • Assist with the manual handling and transferring of patients, adhering to the Trust's Moving and Handling policy.
  • Maintain absolute confidentiality in respect of all medical and nursing records and interpersonal issues with colleagues.

Person Specification
  • Examining Board Dental Nurses National Certificate of Dental Nursing or NVQ 3 Dental Nursing Certificate or equivalent.
  • Good Secondary level Education.
  • GDC Registration.
  • Minimum 12 months experience of working chairside in General Dental Practice.
  • Experience and knowledge of wide range of dental procedures in Oral surgery.
  • Experience and knowledge of wide range of dental procedures in Restorative Surgery.
