Job Overview:

The Groundworks Labourer will report directly to the Area Agent and will be an integral part of the Network Operations - Powercare team. This position is based in the London region and offers a permanent employment opportunity.

Compensation:

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of 30,995, along with a 1% bonus and a 19% shifted allowance amounting to 5,889 per annum.

Role Responsibilities:

The primary purpose of this role is to work as part of a two-person excavation team, performing excavation, backfill, and reinstatement tasks on various work streams, including Faults, Small Service, and Unmetered Connections within the UK Power Networks SPN Distribution Licence area.

Key Duties:

  • Ensure adherence to all Safety, Health, and Environmental regulations relevant to the role.
  • Conduct risk assessments and maintain safe working practices.
  • Utilize handheld IT devices to receive job instructions and document site information.
  • Guarantee that the quality of work aligns with current procedures.
  • Ensure that all tasks meet guaranteed service standards.
  • Safeguard the security of vehicles, tools, plant, and equipment.
  • Be prepared to undertake additional reasonable responsibilities as required by the company.
  • Act as an ambassador for UK Power Networks.

Work Environment:

This role involves traveling across the EPN, SPN, and LPN Footprint of UK Power Networks and participating in an out-of-hours standby rota.

Qualifications:

  • NRSWA Units
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • CSCS Operatives card
  • Emergency First Aid qualification
  • Traffic Banksman qualification

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in the electricity network sector.
  • Plant Operator qualification (mini excavator).
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety culture.
