Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Inspire EHC Ltd. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of pupils with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support teaching and learning activities for individuals, groups, or whole classes, working closely with teachers to implement lesson plans and activities.
  • Monitor and evaluate pupil responses to learning activities, using a range of assessment and monitoring strategies to inform teaching and learning.
  • Record learning using a variety of mechanisms, providing objective and accurate feedback on pupil achievement and progress.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement individualized learning plans, ensuring that pupils receive the support they need to achieve their full potential.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to pupils, helping them to develop social and emotional skills and build positive relationships with peers and staff.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of behaviour management strategies, working with teachers and other staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions, staying up-to-date with best practices and developments in SEN education.
  • Work collaboratively with parents and carers to support pupil learning and development, providing regular updates and feedback on pupil progress.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with pupils with special educational needs, preferably in a school or educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, supporting the development and implementation of individualized learning plans.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, with a strong understanding of child protection policies and procedures.
