Senior Buyer Opportunity at Sainsbury's

Sainsbury's is seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join our team and drive the success of our Floorcare, Irons, and Seasonal Electricals category. As a key member of our buying team, you will be responsible for managing a turnover of £350m and collaborating with renowned brands such as Dyson, Vax, and Shark.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Translate category strategy into actionable plans to deliver profitable growth for assigned ranges
  • Create and implement a customer-driven strategic vision, understanding market trends and competitors through collaboration with Insight and CMI teams
  • Collaborate with UK Design teams and Product Development to deliver the own brand proposition, ensuring well-designed ranges that differentiate Sainsbury's in the market
  • Manage pricing, develop joint business plans with suppliers, and navigate negotiations on costing
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, pricing, and stock availability, making data-driven decisions to maximise sales, profitability, and market share
Requirements:
  • Strong commercial awareness and previous Buying experience, preferably within a Non-food Omni-channel environment
  • Knowledge of systems and processes in a complex multi-channel environment, adapt at operating across digital, store, catalogue trading, able to balance short and long term objectives to deliver the category plan
  • High degree of commercial acumen with a proven track record of commercial successes within this or other organisations
  • Ability to analyse complex data from multiple sources to drive decisions and strategies
  • Proven track record of delivering results to targets as an individual and within a team
