Teaching Assistant Opportunity in Ealing

SANZA Teaching Agency is currently working with a delightful, 2-form entry primary school in Ealing who are seeking a teaching assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a girl in year 1.

About the Role

The student has a diagnosis of Autism (ASD) and has limited speech, but is developing. The teaching assistant will provide individual support to the pupil, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and follow the child's Individual Education Plan (IEP) and behaviour management strategies
  • Facilitate the child's communication and language development through alternative communication methods
  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher and the SENCO to plan and adapt activities to meet the pupil's specific needs
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for the pupil, promoting their social integration with peers
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with parents, providing regular feedback on the child's progress
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience supporting children with Autism (ASD) or similar special educational needs. They will also have knowledge of challenging behaviour, including behaviour management techniques and the ability to adapt them to meet individual needs.

The candidate will need to demonstrate empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
