This role offers a hybrid working model, requiring attendance at the office approximately twice a week.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Cost Estimation Specialist, you will be accountable for all facets of cost estimation and risk management for capital projects initiated by the organization. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
2. Regularly reporting on the status of cost estimates and performance metrics to the Cost, Estimating & Risk Manager.
3. Actively participating in project teams to prepare comprehensive estimates, including risk assessments and contingency provisions.
4. Producing high-quality estimates for proposed projects at various stages, from initial business case development to the awarding of construction contracts.

Collaboration and Support:
You will work closely with project development, construction, design, and investment teams to identify optimal project solutions that align with business objectives. This includes:
1. Challenging proposed solutions when necessary and liaising with commercial and procurement teams to gather essential information.
2. Assisting Delivery Units during the tender phase by providing detailed cost breakdowns and clarifying assumptions, as well as participating in tender negotiations.

Data Management:
Maintain and enhance the estimating and unit cost database to reflect current market conditions. This involves:
1. Extracting actual cost data from completed projects and conducting relevant analyses.
2. Supplying cost data on ongoing, past, and future projects to support organizational communications with regulatory bodies for funding justifications.

Compliance and Benchmarking:
Ensure adherence to all processes and procedures to deliver high-quality services to all stakeholders. This includes:
1. Providing cost substantiation and conducting internal and external benchmarking against industry standards and similar projects within the broader construction sector.

- Proficiency in cost estimation for infrastructure projects within the UK.
- Experience in project construction and budget management.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, including effective prioritization and time management.
