About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Head of IT Engineering to lead our Digital Engineering Centre of Excellence. As a key member of our Digital Technology leadership group, you will be responsible for defining the Engineering and Testing operating model to deliver Digital priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a high-performing software engineering team to deliver high-quality software solutions
  • Engage, enable, and govern partner performance to ensure cost-effective and high-quality development services
  • Resource and recruit a new Digital Engineering and Testing CoE to include capabilities around Release Management, Testing, Integration Development, scrum management, and wider application development
  • Create engineering and operating model strategies, standards, processes, documentation, and knowledge sharing approach, tooling, and reference solutions
  • Work with project and product teams to estimate and resource initiatives and proactively engage to continuously improve operational effectiveness, cost, and agility
  • Consult and engage as part of Greene King's strategy to expand Digital development capabilities in-house and initiate and manage engineering initiatives and projects
Requirements
  • Experience of building and leading a high-performing software engineering team
  • In-depth knowledge of development practices within the Software Delivery Lifecycle
  • Strong technical skills with experience across development languages and practices
  • Understanding of the practicalities of delivering technical projects, solving problems both around technical delivery and people-related issues
  • Excellent knowledge of Agile development practices and hybrid approaches
  • Experience of managing multiple third-party partners and vendors
