About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at Northampton General Hospital. As a key member of our Digital Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Infrastructure Design and Implementation: Design and implement network infrastructure solutions to meet the needs of our hospital's digital services.
  • Network Maintenance and Support: Provide proactive maintenance and support for our network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with our Clinical Systems team, Digital Transformation and Innovation team, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of network infrastructure with other hospital systems.
  • Technical Expertise: Possess in-depth knowledge of network technologies, including LAN, WLAN, and WAN, as well as experience with network security, firewalls, and virtual private networks.
  • Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Analyze and resolve complex network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to hospital services.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that network infrastructure needs are understood and met.
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications: Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in network technologies, including LAN, WLAN, and WAN, as well as experience with network security, firewalls, and virtual private networks.
  • Experience: Proven experience in network infrastructure design, implementation, and maintenance, preferably in a healthcare or public sector environment.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
