Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Support Official to join our Boeing Defence UK team. As a key member of our Safety Management System (SMS) team, you will play a critical role in providing Products and Services Safety to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and investigate safety reports related to the CH-47 program.
  • Develop and sustain a Positive Safety Culture within the program.
  • Facilitate Hazard Working Groups to create and mature BowTies.
  • Perform safety promotion and feedback.
  • Deliver SMS and Human Factors training to support compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain SMS documentation and interfaces with the Ministry of Defence and suppliers.
  • Track and monitor safety actions and recommendations.
  • Communicate safety information to management, leadership teams, and the workforce.
  • Support audits and maintain safety records.
Requirements
  • Formal engineering or flying qualification with experience in aircraft operations or maintenance.
  • Experience in conducting safety investigations in aviation.
  • Formal Safety Management Systems training and experience.
  • Previous military or civil experience in applying safety policy and SMS requirements in an aviation context.
  • Experience in growing and sustaining a Positive Safety Culture.
  • Experience in handling safety reports using military or civil reporting tools.
  • Ability to develop and use meaningful metrics to evaluate safety status.
  • Strong communication and safety training skills.
  • Diplomatic and strong-minded with excellent IT and project management skills.
  • Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Qualified and experienced Human Factors trainer/facilitator.
  • Experience in applying a Just Culture model.
  • Experience using the Ministry of Defence's ASIMS for in-service occurrence monitoring and trending.
