Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Support Engineer to join our team at Reed. As a Project Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in the management and delivery of implementation projects across the campus in the installation of physical infrastructure and active network equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of on-site implementation works, ensuring that all works are carried out to the correct standard and in accordance with relevant Health and Safety requirements.
  • Supervise and brief the Supervisor and Engineering Team on works and safe working practices.
  • Adequately and diligently supervise all works under their control, ensuring that all personnel are aware of their responsibilities and are working safely.
  • Assist the Senior Project Support Engineer in contractor management, including Fujitsu 3rd party suppliers and Contractors working on Fujitsu PC Sites.
  • Quality assurance, ensuring that installation works are carried out to the correct standard.
  • Assist the Senior Project Support Engineer with writing Risk Assessments and Method statements.
  • Assist the Senior Project Support Engineer in raising permits and liaising with Heathrow stakeholders for relevant permits and approvals.
  • Collate job packs information for Team briefings.
  • Identify and highlight both H&S and implementation risks / issues to the Manager in a timely manner.
  • Undertake operational inspection to ensure safe working practices are being maintained.
  • Actively promote a positive health and safety culture.
  • Day and night working as required to successfully deliver the project.
  • Carry out all reasonable duties required for successful delivery of the project.
  • Undertake survey works and collate information into survey findings documentation.
  • Complete detailed and comprehensive shift reports.

Requirements

  • Clear knowledge and experience of delivering on-site IT infrastructure projects within challenging operational environments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of successfully managing a team.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safe working practices.
  • Aviation or Rail experience preferable.
  • Cabling and Physical Infrastructure installation experience.
  • Preferably has experience of Heathrow and airport equipment, systems, processes, and installation standards.
  • Preferably has knowledge of network infrastructure, fault finding and use of test equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Highly organised with attention to detail.
  • Pro-active and collaborative approach to projects.
  • Computer literate - strong working knowledge of (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • SMSTS / SSSTS qualification.
  • CSCS / ECS qualification.
  • Driving licence.
