About Us

The Social Security Scotland Programme Directorate is dedicated to developing and implementing devolved benefits for Scotland, managing millions of payments annually for a substantial number of individuals. This position sits within the Programme Management and Delivery Division, providing support to various teams within the program.

We utilize cutting-edge tools and methodologies to create user-centered systems, services, and processes that facilitate the delivery of devolved benefits in Scotland.

About the Role

As a Senior Content Designer, you will play a vital role in enhancing user experience and ensuring policy delivery. You'll be responsible for developing content strategies and solutions for significant challenges and high-profile projects. This involves managing content quality, leading small teams, and guiding other content designers. Additionally, you'll contribute to cross-government content projects and actively participate in the content community.

Responsibilities

  • Develop user-friendly and accessible content for end-to-end services
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and effectively balance priorities
  • Lead content strategies to ensure business requirements are met
  • Collaborate with user researchers to deeply understand user needs
  • Identify and implement best content design practices

  • Plan and create content for various business areas
  • Review content against digital standards
  • Support program assurance activities
  • Contribute to the DDaT community
  • Perform other duties as needed to support corporate activities
